Welcome to Denmead Striders Website

Denmead Striders was founded in 1989 by our President, Charlie Burton, along with a small group of around 20 enthusiasts all with the common interest of running. We are based in Denmead, a large village approximately 8 miles north of Portsmouth, most of our members living in the Denmead/ Waterlooville area and surrounding environs. We cater for all ages from 18 to 80+ and all abilities from complete novices to experienced marathon runners. We are a friendly club with a current membership of around 160 all of whom train together on club nights. This facilitates a spirit of camaraderie across the club regardless of whether they are an elite runner or a complete novice. Membership for 2024 is just £30 per year. Mondays Summer – 6:30pm at Kidmore Lane Car Park, Denmead
Winter – 6:30pm at Waterlooville Leisure Centre/Swimming Pool

Wednesdays Summer – 7pm at Kidmore Lane Car Park, Denmead
Winter – 7pm at Waterlooville Leisure Centre/Swimming Pool

Social sessions

Saturdays 7:30am at Lidl supermarket, Cowplain 6-10 miles, or longer when marathons planned – ideal for early birds

Prospective members are welcome to attend a training session – we recommend you come along on a Wednesday evening if it is your first session, or contact our Membership Secretary, Julia Revill.
