  • Please remember that compiling some of the race results is a very labour-intensive task., Whilst we try to capture as much as we can,  some results will get missed unless you let us know.  Please let Bekki Leaves know if you have raced and we can then add your results..

  • The next newsletter is being collated by the Chair Clare Welch but she has had little input (e.g none!) to date. Please feel free to send any contributions (race reports, training regimes etc) to her email (sads1978@google.mail.com) for inclusion in the next edition.
  • Social Friday – this Friday 3 Sep there is a social run followed by a get together with snacks and drinks on completion. Please meet at the Scout Hut in Kidmore Lane at 5:30 for the run. The club will purchase some snacks and soft drinks but if you wish for specific food or alcohol please provide this yourselves. Look forward to seeing you then. If the weather is inclement we will look to have a few cheeky ones in the White Hart.

  • Gemma Heggs continues with her Friday social runs but to date there is limited take up and occasionally nobody has turned up. Gemma is prepared to move to a later time if there is interest but it is likely that this social run will be discontinued if there is no interest which would be a shame. Please let myself or Gemma know if you would be interested in a different time.
  • Saturday social run – meet at Cowplain LIDL at 07:30 Saturday morning.
  • Kirsty reported that this Sunday is the first HRRL race and we do not have full teams for male or females. The race is Overton 5 and if you are interested then please feel free to enter.
  • Head coach Gary reminded everyone that next Wednesday 8 Sep will be the last summer training session for 2021 in the Denmead Lanes before switching to the winter schedule and meeting outside Waterlooville Leisure Centre.
  • Look forward to seeing you on Friday have a great week and happy racing at the weekend ‍♂️‍♂️

Wednesday, 30th July 2021

For anyone that did not attend last night no real announcements as we wanted to crack on .
Results will now be done by Bekki Leaves – email details to follow in the next few weeks and will start back up again being logged on the website.
Whilst we will be looking out for HRRL league and major races please could we ask that you let us know if you want results logged and advise what they are/where can be found. It is a mighty task trying to know what everyone has completed so we really need your help on this one.
Big thank you to Lisa Peckover for doing this over the years.

I believe majority of members are now paid up but gentle reminder if anyone has now decided to come back and have not paid please liaise with Julia. Details can be found in the  Info/Membership Information link.

    • *Well done to all of those who took part in the Why Not Run Race.
    • Well done to Del King for his Ironbourne achievement and a podium place for his age category
    • Re: results, bear with us on these coming back and being recorded
  • Now we are back in the lanes all together we still need to be mindful of other people in the lanes. Whilst restrictions have been lifted we don’t know how others may feel so please still be considerate and take wide birth when running past etc.
  • Reminder about horses – approach with caution!
  • Graham Clarke gave an overview of the Virtual Striders’ League – well done to all of those taking part and there are still races left if you want to participate.
  • Next week is the Denmead 10k route for the club – for all of those that wish to participate you may even get a medal at the end! It would be be great to have a few of us there as will be a good tester for the new committee.
