Currently the club levies a membership subscription of £30 for the year, of that £20 was paid over to England Athletics as athlete registration fee, leaving the club with the remaining £10 from each member to cover the running costs of the club.For information, England Athletics has advised that the athlete registration fee isincreasing from £20 to £23 with effect from 1st April 2026.

With this increase the club will only have £7 from each club member to cover all the costs to run the club.

To continue to provide the required training and first aid courses for our coaches, venue costs, affiliation fees (Hampshire Road Race League, Southern Cross Country & England Athletics, etc.), transportation for the Ryde 10 mile road race, various social events, such as Christmas and Awards nights, together with general administration costs, an increase in subscriptions would be required

The club is in a favourable position in that the running of the Denmead 10K should and has provided a financial surplus over the past years, however reliance on any future surplus cannot be guaranteed as any non-running of the event or lower attendance, could easily result in a loss-making position.

Considering the forgoing the Club Committee has agreed to adjust the way the member subscription is calculated to provide greater clarity and has agreed upon an increase the value attributable to the running of the club

With effect from 1st April 2026 the Denmead Striders membership fee will be:

£15.00 plus England Athletics registration fee, of £23.00

TOTAL OF £38.00

If you haven’t yet paid your membership fee this year, you will need to pay the new amount if you pay after 31st March!
